What is treatment with Invisalign?
Invisalign is ideal for children and teens who have crowded and crooked teeth with malocclusion problems. Invisalign uses a system of completely clear aligner trays that have to be worn for the majority of the day and night. When worn properly, the trays force pressure on the teeth, putting them into correct alignment. Invisalign is nearly invisible to the naked eye, so your child won’t have to worry about the stigma of having a mouth full of metal.
Why would your child need Invisalign?
Your child may need Invisalign if their teeth are crooked or crowded. Most children have some level of orthodontic trouble. For more severe cases, additional work may be necessary to correct complicated problems. To determine if your child will need orthodontic treatment using Invisalign, you’ll need to bring them in for an exam and consultation with Dr. Mina. Dr. Mina will work to provide your child with a comprehensive treatment plan specific to their smile needs.
What makes your child a good candidate for Invisalign?
Your child is a good candidate for Invisalign if their teeth are crooked or crowded. If your child is able to keep appliances in when needed, Invisalign will work wonderfully for them. With the help of an exam and dental x-rays, we can determine if your child will benefit from Invisalign.
What can you expect with treatment involving Invisalign?
Your child will first come in for an exam and consultation with Dr. Mina. We will take impressions and create molds of your child’s teeth and mouth. These molds and impressions as well as x-rays are necessary in creating a treatment plan. Your child will have clear aligner trays made for them to wear for 22 hours each day. Your child will need to come back every few weeks to have additional trays made for them. It’s important that your child wear the aligners for most of the day and night for treatment to be effective.
